Poznan Bambers Festival

On the first Saturday of August the Poznan Bambers Festival is held in Poznan. The flamboyant gala is organised by the Poznan Bambers Association to remind the inhabitants of Poznan of the 18th-century period in the history of the city. It is then that the German immigrants from Bamberg came to settle in the areas depopulated after the Northern War and the plague. The feast commemorates signing the first contract between the Bamberg immigrants and local authorities of August 1st, 1719. The Festival is held by the Bamber's Well in the Old Town Market Square.
