Stary Browar (The Old Brewery)

Located in the heart of Poznan, Stary Browar (The Old Brewery) is a unique place, as it combines a modern shopping mall with the Art Courtyard. The whole complex consists of a few parts. The commercial one - the Stary Browar Sklep (Old Brewery Shopping Precinct), covering the area of over 22,000 square metres, is located in two buildings. Close to the Stary Browar Sklep there is the Dziedziniec Sztuki (the Art Courtyard). It is the cultural centre of the whole complex. Its aim is to promote a wide variety of cultural events in fields like: music, film, sculpture, theatre, fine arts, dance and literature. There are a lot of artistic events to choose from, e.g. the best world avant-garde and experimental film shows, experimental improvised music concerts, young international avant-garde theatre performances, performative art shows, modern art exhibitions. Poznan Plaza

Another centrally situated shopping complex is Poznan Plaza. It features numerous shops, restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. If you are visiting the mall with children, you can let them enjoy themselves at the kids entertainment centre. Other attractions include a bowling alley, pool club, disco and a cinema.

Kupiec Poznanski

Another option for a shopping complex is Kupiec Poznanski (The Poznan's Merchant), located between Stary Rynek and Stary Browar. This multi-storey stylish mall houses myriad shops of all kinds. On the top there is a cafe, which offers a nice view over the city. It is easy to get there by public transport, as tram services stop right outside the doors.

King Cross

King Cross is a modern and popular shopping complex. It features clothing, leather goods, sports, household and furniture outlets as well as restaurants and cafes. There is also a large Geant hypermarket and a playground for kids.




Empik Megastore

If you are looking for press, books and multimedia, Empik Megastore is the right place to head for. This leading retail chain in Poland offers an excellent selection of press, magazines, books (also in foreign languages) CDs, DVDs, computer accessories and stationery. The Poznan Empik is housed in a historic building right on Plac Wolnosci. There is also a cafe – a perfect place to sit down with a book.

Omnibus

Another address for books is Omnibus bookstore , where on the ground floor you can find a nice selection of novels in English. There is also a handy section of language books including Polish-English dictionaries as well as some Polish course books.

Art Rock is a music shop offering a fine collection of Cds and DVDs. In the store there is also a second-hand section with CDs and DVD, so if you are looking for some vintage records and other rarities, you will enjoy browsing around!

Centrally located on Polwiejska street, Piu Piu offers a nice selection of reasonably-priced Italian clothes. If you buy a nice dress or a blouse, you can complement it on the spot with a fashionable belt or a piece of jewellery.

If you are keen on precious, old items, visit Horn – the kingdom of antics. Apart from the shop, there is also a tiny art gallery with contemporary works by Polish artists. Horn is located on Stary Rynek 42 (42 Old Square).
