The city of Poznan will be one of the Euro 2012 host cities. The preparations are full steam ahead. During four coming years, the city is going to be a huge building site. The major investments include: the modernization of the football stadium, the redevelopment of the bus and railway stations as well as modernization of
Poznan-Lawica Airport.
The president of Poznan claims that the football stadium at Bulgarska St. has to be ready by 2010. It will seat 50 000 people. Adjacent to the stadium, car parks are to be built. They will house 225 parking spaces for buses and 1750 for cars. The cost of the investment is over 105 million Euro. The first test for the stadium will be UEFA Cup Final in 2010.

The training centres for football teams may be located at the following towns: Poznan itself, Wronki, Grodzisk Wlkp., Szamotuly, Opalenica, Pniewy, Swarzedz and Pobiedziska. Apart from Poznan, Wronki and Grodzisk Wlkp are most likely to become the training centres sites.
Another key investment is the completion of A2 motorway from Nowy Tomysl to Swiecko and the acceleration of works on the expressway S5, which enables fast connection between three Euro 2012 host cities: Wroclaw, Gdansk and Poznan.
Another necessary investment is the modernization of roads linking Poznan with the training centres, especially with Wronki and Grodzisk Wlkp.
In Poznan the road access to the A2 motorway, the stadium and Poznan-Lawica Airport have to be improved by building 3rd communication frame.
The city is going to buy modern buses and trams, which will cost over 118 million Euro.
The fast tram route will be extended to Dworzec Zachodni. The tram form Nowe Zawady will terminate at railway station Poznan Wschod. Also a new tram route connecting the Lecha housing estate with Franow will be built.
Poznan-Lawica Airport requires not only redevelopment but also fast, collision-free connections with the stadium. That is why, Bukowska St. connecting the city centre with the airport will be rebuilt. In 2012 the Lawica Airport will be able to serve 3 million passengers per year. The city has also gained the permission to use the Krzesiny airport grounds for charter flights.
Also conections between railway and bus stations are being improved.
The bus station is going to be modernized. It will pay a key role in the communication, as football supporters will be accommodated in various parts of the Poznan urban complex.
