The multi-branch National Museum in Poznan was founded in 1857. It is one of the leading museum institutions in Poland. At present it houses 309,569 objects entered as 203,304 inventory items as well as 4,119 deposits. It features the following collections: Antique Art, Medieval Art, Polish Art of 16th - 20th centuries, Contemporary Art, Foreign Painting, Print Room, Poster and Design and Coin Room.
